For this project I had to create a book by combining two texts of my choosing. This would help me explore how meanings could be manipulated (i.e. reinforced, ampli ed, contradicted, etc.) and how new meanings could emerge in the creative act of designing juxtaposed texts.
DESIGN ISSUES : the book as object, binding, proximity, scale, contra- diction, harmony, juxtaposition, inter-textuality, narrative, metamor- phosis, punctuation, repetition, pacing, pattern, layering, transparency, colour, foreground+background.
The two texts I ended up choosing were an excerpt from St-Exupéry's Le petit prince and a drawing process about “how to draw a snake” from the popular forum WikiHow.
